Aama Yangri Trek
Aama Yangri, situated approximately 90km north of Kathmandu in the Sindupalchowk district
under Langtang National Park, is a highlight in the Helambu Circuit trek. This trekking destination,
also known as “Hyolmo Heritage,” offers a natural and culturally rich experience. Home to
Sherpas, Tamangs, and Chhetries, the region boasts diverse landscapes and the highest peak nearest
to Kathmandu, Ama Yangri, standing at 3,800m. Travelers can expect majestic Himalayan views,
a glimpse into the unique Hyolmo culture, and encounters with Thanka arts. Ama Yangri is a focal
point in a trek itinerary that seamlessly combines the allure of mountainous scenery and the vibrant
cultural tapestry of the Helambu region.
Itinerary

Day 01Kathmandu to Tarkeghyang
1. Departure from Baneswor: Begin the journey at 10 a.m. from Baneswor.
2. Destination – Tarkeghyang: Head towards Tarkeghyang, a 5-hour ride from the origin.
3. Snacks and Refreshments: Enjoy provided snacks en route to keep you energized.
4. Night Stay at Tarkeghyang: Arrive at Tarkeghyang, the base of Aama Yangri, where a
non-veg dinner awaits. Spend the night at this picturesque location for a memorable stay
5. Hotel Detail: Hotel Yangri Peak, Tarkrghyang. -
Day 02Tarkeghyang to Aamayangri Peak
1. Day 2 Morning: Start the day with a hearty breakfast at Tarkeghyang.
2. Guided Journey to Aama Yangri Peak: Your local guide will lead you to the Aama
Yangri peak. Enjoy the scenic trek, and at the top, indulge in snacks provided.
3. Exploration Time: Spend approximately 1.5 hours soaking in the breathtaking views.
4. Return to Hotel: Descend from the peak and return to the hotel for a satisfying meal.
5. Afternoon and Return Journey: Depart from Tarkeghyang in the afternoon, and the driver
will guide you back to the origin, reaching by 6 p.m.
