Janakpur, also known as Janakpurdham, is a historical and religious city in the Dhanusha District of Nepal.It is renowned as the birthplace of Goddess Sita, the consort of Lord Rama in the Hindu epic Ramayana.Janakpur is also the capital of the ancient Mithila Kingdom, ruled by King Janaka. The city is famous forits cultural heritage, Maithili art, and the grand Janaki Mandir, a temple dedicated to Goddess Sita.Janakpur attracts thousands of pilgrims every year, especially during the festivals of Vivah Panchami andRam Navami.

Itinerary

Day 01Kathmandu to Janakpur
- Early Morning (around 6 AM): Depart from Kathmandu towards Janakpur in a Scorpio. The journey typically takes around 7-8 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.
- Route: Enjoy the scenic drive through the Terai plains of Nepal, passing through small townsand villages.
- Breakfast: Stop at a roadside restaurant or cafe along the way for breakfast (approximately after2-3 hours of driving). {According to the package}
- Lunch: Around midday, stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the highway or near Janakpur (approximately 1-2 hours before reaching Janakpur).
- Afternoon: Continue the journey to Janakpur. Arrive in Janakpur in the afternoon, check into ahotel, and freshen up.
- Evening: Visit the Janaki Mandir, dedicated to Goddess Sita, and explore the local markets.
- Dinner: Enjoy dinner at the hotel.
- Overnight: Janakpur.
Day 02Janakpur to Kathmandu
- Morning: Visit the Dhanush Sagar and Ganga Sagar, two sacred ponds in Janakpur, Dhanusha Dham temple, Janakpurdham Exploration.
- Breakfast: at hotel
- Afternoon: Check out from the hotel and begin our journey back to Kathmandu.
- Lunch: Stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the highway and continue the drive to Kathmandu.
- Evening: Arrive in Kathmandu.
