Upper Mustang, known as the “Forbidden Kingdom,” is a remote and culturally rich region in north-central Nepal, bordering Tibet. This mystical land, once a restricted area, offers a rare glimpse into preserved Tibetan culture, with its walled city of Lo Manthang, ancient monasteries, and traditional Tibetan homes. The dramatic landscapes, characterized by arid terrain, deep canyons, and eroded cliffs, provide a breathtaking backdrop for exploration.
