Balthali village tour
Balthali Village, located about 36 kilometers from Kathmandu, is a tranquil and picturesque rural
destination known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage. Nestled amidst lush green hills,
terraced rice fields, and scenic forests, the village offers stunning views of the surrounding
Himalayas, including the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. Balthali is home to a mix of local
ethnic communities, including Tamangs and Newars, who preserve traditional farming practices
and vibrant cultural customs. The area is a haven for nature lovers and trekkers, offering peaceful
hikes through ancient villages, pristine landscapes, and an opportunity to experience the simplicity
of rural Nepali life. It’s an ideal getaway for those seeking a peaceful retreat, with warm hospitality,
welcoming resorts, and a chance to explore nearby attractions like the Balthali Monastery and the
oldest hydroelectric plant in Nepal.
Itinerary

Day 01Kathmandu to Balthali Village
• Drive from Kathmandu to Khopasi which is 36 KM in distance and takes 2 hours to reach.
• From Khopasi, hike towards the Balthali Village which takes another 30 minutes to reach.
• Tamang Village, beautiful terrace field, oldest hydroelectric field are some of the highlights
you will see in the trail.
• You will be welcome with welcome drinks in the resort during check-in time. Once the
paperwork is done, the room will be allocated for you.
• Free time to relax and enjoy the evening or roam around Dada Gaun, a traditional village
nearby resort.
• The evening will be enjoyed with music, dance, campfire, & typical Nepali buffet dinner.
Overnight in the Resort. -
Day 02Balthali Village Resort to Kathmandu
• You will be woken up by the noise of birds which is one of the best natural alarms. Have
breakfast in the resort and hike around to explore some of the local attractions with hotel
staff.
• Hike to see the old water mill towards the joint river along with Ladkeshwor Temple inside
the cave. Once this is over, we will hike towards Neupane Village which is a Tamang
Village.
• We will overview the lifestyle, culture, houses and then we will move forward to Ladku
river and the back to Resort for Lunch.
• We will have a buffet lunch in the resort and check out from the hotel. On the way back to
Khopasi, we will pass through the suspension bridge over the Roshi River.
• From Khopashi, drive back to Kathmandu valley which takes another two hours to reach.
